HARROGATE, Tenn — City of Harrogate Mayor Troy Poore said many people have called city hall complaining about people speeding, leading him to push for a new solution.

"The speeding has gotten worse, there's no doubt about that, running stop signs has gotten worse in two or three places. It's a problem," Mayor Poore said.

Lance Hensley is the owner of the Harrogate Barber Shop and has seen the traffic problems firsthand.

"I lived in Shawanee for probably 12 years and we would see them blow through stop signs all day long," Hensley said.

It's why Mayor Poore said the city has now brought on off-duty Claiborne County deputies to crack down on people committing traffic violations.
