SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Rancho Bernardo coffee shop owner is warning other small businesses after burglars broke into his café early Monday morning, causing thousands of dollars in losses.

Surveillance video shows two suspects targeting Compa Coffee Roasters around 12:30 a.m., according to owner Dylan Redmond. The shop, located near Interstate 15 and Rancho Bernardo Road, has been open for about two years.

Redmond said the burglars first tried to knock down a surveillance camera with a hammer before ripping it from the wall. They then broke into a lock box containing a delivery key and gained access to the back office, where they stole cash, electronics and point-of-sale equipment.
