(KRON) -- Fairfield High School officials are reaching out to community members following an after-school fight Tuesday in their parking lot, which escalated to gunfire. There is no ongoing threat to students or after-school activities, according to police.

Fairfield police said officers responded at 3:34 p.m. to the location and were soon joined by additional officers who helped secured the campus. As of this writing, police were still investigating the scene.

"The preliminary investigation determined that at least one gunshot was fired at an occupied vehicle related to the fight," said police in a news statement. "At this time, it is not believed that anyone was hit by the gunfire."

There were no details yet provided on potential suspects or if there were any arrests made.
