Democrat Kylie Kilmer has formally announced her candidacy for Kansas State House of Representatives for District 70, covering Dickinson County and parts of Marion and McPherson counties. Kilmer said she became interested in running after learning the last several elections went unopposed.

A full time teacher, mother, and advocate, Kilmer decided there’s no time like the present to run a campaign for the statehouse.

“District 70 is a deep red district, but not all of our residents believe in the current administration’s tactics. Politics are so divided right now, and more than ever, we need Democrats to step up to the plate and say, ‘this is not okay.’”
