The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles is relaxing some restrictions on personalized license plates after a federal lawsuit was filed.
According to a report from WCMH, two state residents filed a lawsuit against the Ohio BMV in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Ohio alleging their requests for the words “GAY” and “MUSLIM” were rejected. Advertisement
The lawsuit stated that those terms were rejected, despite other terms such as “STR8,” “ATHEIST,” and “HINDU,” having been issued on plates in the past.
