TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The owner of a small business in Tucson has pleaded not guilty in Pima County Superior Court.
Eduardo Chavez was indicted by a grand jury last month, accused of theft.
13 News submitted a public records request last month, and now has the documents in hand.
A 13-page incident report from the Marana Police Department details why detectives felt they had probable cause for criminal charges after a customer filed a police report.
“The whole thing was he’s got our money to do all the work, and nothing has ever happened,” said customer Fred Erickson. “We went down there, signed his contract, and gave him $2,500.”
Erickson paid in-full upfront for Eduardo Chavez , owner of Chavez Since 67 to re-upholster two chairs in January.
