WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Sept. 10, Sen. John Curtis (R-UT) solemnly honored two fallen Utah police officers in Washington.

Curtis paid tribute to Sergeant Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada of the Tremonton-Garland Police Department who were killed in the line of duty in August by laying a wreath in their honor at Arlington National Cemetery.

Later that same day, he again honored them by giving a speech about their courage and sacrifice on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

Although Curtis’ remarks in the Senate were quickly overshadowed by the nationwide media furor over the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk a day later, they were heartfelt nonetheless.
