COLTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A cooking oil spill on the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway caused a major traffic jam in the Colton area on Tuesday.
A truck crash caused the cooking oil to spill all over the freeway mainlanes.
All westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway were closed at Mt. Vernon Avenue as crews worked to clean up the mess.
Traffic was being diverted off the freeway at Mt. Vernon, with delays stretching all the way back to Redlands.
Crews will likely need to use sand to soak up the oil.
Drivers were being asked to slow down near the closure and use alternate routes.
