LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The founder of the Louisville nonprofit, Shirley’s Way , said he was only trying to help the community, but vandals have taken advantage of that.
Mike Mulrooney, the founder of the Louisville nonprofit, Shirley’s Way, is dealing with a mess he never expected to have. Vandals have been looting dumpsters outside his Dixie Highway thrift store, but that’s not Mulrooney’s main concern.
“I guess it’s not a big deal to most, but it’s just aggravating,” Mulrooney told Spectrum News.
The organization supports families facing hardships from a cancer diagnosis.
“Our primary focus is people are with cancer or local kids’ programs. We do a lot of kids’ programs. We’re currently feeding about 3,400 kids every week,” Mulrooney said.
