EUGENE — The civil lawsuit between the University of Oregon and former running backs coach Carlos Locklyn for breach of contract is headed to court as the sides are battling over discovery.
Locklyn’s attorney filed a motion earlier this month to compel UO to produce documents related to employment contracts and buyouts for its football coaches, including former defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter, former secondary coach Marcel Yates and former strength and conditioning coach Aaron Feld. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for Oct. 6 in Lane County Circuit Court.
The amount of Locklyn’s buyout owed to UO is the focus of the dispute. His request for a partial dismissal was denied earlier this summer and trial is set for Feb. 18.
