COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Columbia Fireflies won big Tuesday night in their second game against the Lynchburg Hillcats, taking the Carolina League Championship Series to a third winner-takes-all game.
The Fireflies beat the Hillcats 15-10, scoring half of those runs in the sixth inning. This game was a must-win for the team to ensure a chance to bring home a championship win to Columbia for the first time.
David Shields was the starting pitcher for the game, striking out the first batter and going for five innings. Shields struck out four batters but gave up seven hits and three runs.
