ROTTERDAM — Rotterdam lawmakers are inching closer to consolidating a sewer district in a move that is expected to drive down costs for some property owners in the coming years.
The town is considering consolidating Sewer District No. 7 and its two existing extensions as a way to “improve administrative efficiency concerning debt retirement, operation, maintenance and intermunicipal fees associated with wastewater management services,” according to a consolidation engineering report by the firm LaBella Associates commissioned by the town.
