Mariners' Dominic Canzone makes prodigious Seattle history not done since 1987

Whether or not Dominic Canzone succeeded in stealing the show from Cal Raleigh on the night Raleigh broke Mickey Mantle's switch-hitting home run record is up for interpretation.

But Canzone certainly tried his best in a historic night of his own for the Seattle Mariners .

In a win over the Kansas City Royals , Canzone went 5-for-5. He homered three times. He drove in four runs.

It's the first time a Seattle player has had five hits, four RBI and three homers in the same game since 1987, according to StatMuse .

Canzone, 28, is having the season of his life.

He made his MLB debut in 2023 and batted .220 while splitting the season between the Diamondbacks and Mariners.
