HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A shooting on Binford Drive on Tuesday morning left one man dead and another hospitalized, making it the area's fourth shooting in four months.

The Huntsville Police Department said it responded to a call about a potential shooting around 10 a.m. Tuesday at the 200 block of Binford Drive, which is near the L.R. Patton Apartment Complex.

District 4 Huntsville City Councilman Bill Kling said Huntsville is not a violent city and that he will work with city agencies to combat the violence.

"When something like this happens, this is very serious, very big news," Kling said. "We're not like Birmingham, you know, where stuff like this happens just about every couple of days."
