SPARTA, Tenn. (WSMV) - Four people, including a young child, were killed and 13 others were injured after a head-on crash on Highway 111 in White County on Monday evening. Those who live nearby say they were heartbroken and nervous to drive on that road.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary reports said 22-year-old Braden Chaphe was driving northbound with a 2-year-old in his car when he sideswiped another vehicle. His car then crossed the median into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a van carrying a family of 15.
The driver of the van, 76-year-old Stanley Stewart, and two passengers, 29-year-old Bethany Beachy and 2-year-old Andrew Beachy, were killed.
