A courageous young mother who suffered at the hands of a serial domestic abuser has urged others not to fall for his charm.

Ryan Alford, 28, convinced Jade Ford that his 2022 conviction for stalking and controlling and coercive behaviour was based on lies.

But after his prison release in 2023, she entered into a relationship with him – and soon became the victim of his latest campaign of terror.

Recalling how Alford was charming at first, Jade said: “He convinced me his former partner was just the crazy ex.

“It wasn’t until I was living it daily that I realised she wasn’t a liar.

“Everything she had said was true.”

Alford had previously been jailed for 20 months for abusing Demi Pryor in Ashford, subjecting her to verbal and physical assaults and weaponising intimate video
