SAXONBURG — The night of Thursday, Sept. 18, will be a busy one for the borough’s Main Street when it hosts both the fifth Mingle on Main of the season and the annual Knoch High School homecoming parade at the same time.
The parade will serve as a prelude to the Knoch Knights’ homecoming football game against the New Castle Hurricanes on Friday night, Sept. 19.
According to borough manager Steven May, all parties involved — including the borough, Knoch School District, and the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department — have agreed to the arrangement.
“Everybody’s on board,” May said.
The route of the parade will take marchers from the borough municipal building on West Main Street up to Pittsburgh Street before they stop at the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company grounds.
