Number of passengers travelling through Ireland’s airports up 7pc since last June

The most popular routes connect Ireland with the UK and Spain

There was an increase of 800,000 in the number of passengers through Irish airports in the second quarter of this year compared with the same period in 2024, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The number of passengers travelling to and from Ireland in the second quarter rose from 11.2 million people last year to 12 million – an increase of 7pc.

During the same period in 2023, there were 10.7 million visitors reported.
