Officers with the California Highway Patrol are in pursuit of a motorist behind the wheel of a vehicle that's allegedly been reported stolen out of Redlands.
The suspect, behind the wheel of a dark-colored GMC pickup truck, in southbound lanes of the 14 Freeway about a half hour after the chase was initiated. It's unclear if there are any passengers in the vehicle.
At least four CHP patrol cruisers were tailing the suspect, whose front passenger tire was missing, at speeds of 50 to 60 miles per hour. Sparks could be seen shooting from beneath the car as the missing wheel struck the roadway.
The suspect was clocked at speeds of nearly 100 miles per hours on the 14 Freeway before transitioning to the 5 Freeway.
