Even on a night when starting pitcher Nathan Shinn struggled with location and the offense did not record a base hit until the fourth inning, the Idaho Falls Chukars found a way to eke out a win in the first game of the Pioneer League Championship Series.

Shinn bulldogged his way through four innings, allowing three runs (all earned) on seven hits, with five strikeouts and one walk, but a high pitch count forced manager Troy Percival to turn to his bullpen in the fifth.
