Ramp closures continue
One year into the Arizona Department of Transportation’s $140 million project to widen Loop 101 between Interstate 17 and 75th Avenue, the project is on budget and on time, ADOT spokesman Doug Nintzel said.
Year two of work on the Agua Fria Freeway begins with bridges being widened with new girders and on- or off-ramps being reconstructed to fit with the updated freeway.
The series of 60-day ramp closures in this stretch of the freeway serving Glendale and Phoenix will are staggered to avoid consecutive on- or off-ramps being closed at the same time.
“It’s never easy but the project team is working to limit the overall impacts on traffic. We thank drivers for their patience when they need to use detours,” Nintzel stated in an email.
He said the following 60-day
