Trying to follow his church’s mission may have had deadly consequences for a Scottsdale Good Samaritan.
Frank Quaranta came to Scottsdale after three decades as a financial analyst.
According to his Facebook page, he was “happily retired” here.
Quaranta kept busy, however, driving to Wesley United Methodist Church to serve with the Phoenix church’s homeless programs.
According to the church’s website, “Wesley exists to show God’s love for all people through serving and caring …Wesley provides outreach to the unhoused through dedicated support and compassionate services.”
At the church’s cooling station, Quaranta, 67, apparently met a homeless man later described by Scottsdale Police as “charismatic and manipulative.”
