An investigation is underway after police said they found a decomposing body inside the trunk of a stolen vehicle in North Philadelphia.

According to police, they received a 911 call about a strong odor coming from a Dodge Charger on the 200 block of North Bambrey Street on the night of Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2025.

When the trunk of the vehicle was forced open, police said they discovered a decomposing body.

The body was wrapped and at this time, police said they were not able to identify the person's sex, race or age.

NBC10 was on the scene and the Dodge Charger was seen being towed away to where police said it will be swabbed for fingerprints and DNA.
