Popular tourist spots Sahastradhara and Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple were battered as the raging Tamsa river swept away hotels, eateries, and roads. Many are missing, including tourists, while rescue operations continue amid heavy rains. Nearly 200 stranded students were evacuated from Paunda, and dramatic rescues saved people trapped on trees and even an electric pole. Authorities warn the full scale of damage will only emerge in the coming days, with the Met Department predicting more rains across Uttarakhand.
