The Eagles’ recent signing had plenty to be happy about. Smith’s new team won in his debut, a Super Bowl rematch with the Chiefs. And he played well, helping shut down Patrick Mahomes — and showing what he can still offer as a 33-year-old edge rusher.
Smith was signed less than 24 hours after the Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, a game in which the Eagles failed to record a sack. On Sunday in Kansas City, the three-time Pro Bowler was in on a sack less than two quarters into his Eagles tenure.
