ALEXANDRIA, Va. — As commuters head out the door Wednesday, some traffic delays are expected through the morning.
A car crashed into a light pole on west Braddock Road near North Ridge in Alexandria causing a power outage around 5 a.m. As of 6 a.m., the road is closed in both directions between the 900 block of Fontaine & east Timber Branch Road. Police say the road is expected to be closed all day. Police have not yet said if there are any reported injuries to the driver.
According to Dominion Energy's map, about 450 customers are without power Wednesday morning. Officials say they expect to have power restored to those impacted by 9 a.m. Impacted customers can use the Dominion Energy Outage Map to see their estimated time of restoration for their area.
