FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth ISD will soon present a plan for "bold, urgent action" at underperforming schools, the district said.

At the Sept. 23 school board meeting, Fort Worth ISD will present a plan to place a group of schools under the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Resource Campus model, the district said in a statement.

The model would begin in the 2026-2027 school year, Fort Worth ISD said.

"Fort Worth ISD administration has been clear that incremental improvement is not enough," the statement reads. "Low-performing schools deserve bold, urgent action to ensure every child has access to an excellent education."

According to the TEA, the resource campus model aims to improve student outcomes by:

incentivizing the most impactful teachers to serve on the highest-need campuses,
