WAIALUA, Hawaii (Island News) – A hiker was taken to a hospital after falling approximately 30 feet on a trail in Waialua on Monday night.
The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to the Peacock Flatts Trail at 7:27 p.m. after reports of an injured hiker.
It was reported that a man in his 30s fell approximately 30 feet and was not able to hike the trail on his own. HFD helicopters were able to locate the man at 8:02 p.m.
The Honolulu Emergency Services (EMS) took the man to a nearby trauma center in serious condition. Paramedics reported that he had suffered multiple serious injuries including a head injury.
