KALKASKA – Kalkaska Public Schools Board of Education has directed Superintendent Rick Heitmeyer to investigate a teacher’s social media posts in the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The posts, made by Kalkaska Middle School teacher and dean of students Daryl Dimon, were the focus of Monday night’s school board meeting when 16 people addressed the board during the public communication portion of the session. Some of the commenters, each held to 3 minutes, pleaded with the board not to severely discipline Dimon for these online posts in which he criticized Kirk and his views.
