After wearing the late Queen Elizabeth II’s pearls for the Duchess of Kent’s funeral on Tuesday, Kate Middleton —Catherine, Princess of Wales—turned to sentimental jewelry once again for the U.S. state visit today. Greeting U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Windsor Castle, Kate sported a three feather brooch featuring a coronet in the center, representing the badge of the Prince of Wales.

The diamond and emerald brooch has a long royal history. It was first given to Queen Alexandra by her husband, King Edward VII, when she was the Princess of Wales in 1863. Following her engagement to Prince Charles, Princess Diana wore the piece on several occasions, often as a pendant, while Queen Camilla has also been photographed with the brooch in the past.
