MADISON (WKOW) - State Representative Francesca Hong has announced a run for Governor of Wisconsin.

The Madison native has served in the state Assembly but also works as a bartender, dishwasher and line cook. Hong is one of four Democrats in the Wisconsin Assembly who also are members of the Socialist Caucus . She was elected to the state Assembly in 2020 and ran unopposed in both 2022 and 2024.

The 36-year-old joins a Democratic field that features Lt. Gov Sara Rodriguez, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and state Sen. Kelda Roys. The race to replace Gov. Tony Evers, who is retiring after two terms, is open with no incumbent running for the first time since 2010.
