The jury in the murder trial of Alexis Cancel-Soto reached a verdict.

Following a lengthy trial, a Baltimore City jury got the case late Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, the jury reached a verdict, finding Cancel-Soto guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of Cameran Holt.

The jury found Cancel-Soto guilty on counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment and four firearm counts.

Alexis-Soto will be sentenced on Dec. 3. Holt’s mother, Roxanne Spath, said she plans to be there.

Spath said she was shocked at first by the verdict because deliberations stretched for around 10 hours across two days. In the end, she is heartened by how hard and how carefully the jury worked to render the guilty verdict.
