HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - A suspect was arrested for a murder in Hartford that happened last Friday.

Police said they charged 34-year-old Xavier Soto of Vernon with murder, criminal use of a firearm, risk of injury to a child, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Miguel Alfinez of Hartford.

Police said they were called to the area of 387 Broadview Terr. on Sept. 12 for a report of a person shot.

“Upon arrival, a gunshot victim was located,” said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, Hartford police. “The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.”

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions responded and assumed the investigation.
