The city of Grand Junction’s Sustainability Division is no more, with the city converting its sustainability specialist role to a management analyst position within the City Manager’s Office.
City Manager Mike Bennett said the move was a structural change that expanded the role of the sustainability specialist to also look into making city processes more efficient as well. He said the city’s sustainability work will continue within the city’s established departments.
“It’s a shift in structure, but the bulk of the work that we’ve already started continues and continues to be led by those departments,” Bennett said. “And we continue to provide support from the City Manager’s Office with the assistant to the city manager and the management analyst.” Western Colorado
