COLDWATER, Mich. (WOOD) — A middle school student was hit by a pickup truck while riding her bike to school in Coldwater, police say.
It happened just after 7 a.m. Wednesday on W. Chicago Street near Munson Street, according to the Coldwater Police Department.
Police said the girl, a sixth grader, was crossing the street when she was hit by a westbound pickup truck. The truck driver was described as a 29-year-old Bronson man.
The girl was taken to a hospital in Coldwater, then flown by helicopter to another hospital, according to police. They did not specify her condition.
The street was shut down as police investigated. As of about 10 a.m., it remained closed.
