Aaron Jones has been placed on injured reserve by the Minnesota Vikings as he rehabs a hamstring injury and he is now out at least four weeks.

Jones was injured during Sunday night’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters on Monday that the 30-year-old UTEP and Burges alum would miss the team's Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals .

Jones has 46 yards on 13 carries this season, as fourth-year pro Jordan Mason has emerged as the Vikings ' RB1. Jones, however, had a game-winning touchdown in Minnesota's opening win over Chicago.

The earliest Jones will be able to return is for the Vikings' week 8 game, a Thursday night contest at the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 23.
