HARTFORD, Conn. — A Vernon man is facing a murder charge after a fatal shooting in Hartford last week, police said.
The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. on Sept. 12. Hartford police were called to Broadview Terrace on the report of a person shot. When officers got to the scene, they found 38-year-old Miguel Alfinez suffering from gunshot injuries.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions began to investigate and identified 34-year-old Xavier Soto as the suspect.
An arrest warrant was filed for Soto. On Tuesday, Soto turned himself in to Hartford police.
Soto was charged with murder, criminal use of a firearm, risk of injury to a child, and first-degree reckless endangerment. Soto was held on a $
