The Corpus Christi and Portland police departments are investigating a threat made by a Portland man toward Corpus Christi Democrats.

In a Facebook comment, the man left a comment on a post that said, "Demonrats are fixing to fall one by one. Starting in Corpus. That's all I'm going to say."

Both police departments said no criminal charges have been filed, but the case is still under investigation.

"That doesn't mean we won't be keeping our eyes on these types of things," Portland Assistant Police Chief Ronnie Owen said in a phone call. "It has gotten chaotic with things recently."

The report of the threat came shortly after conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during a Sept. 10 event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
