IKEA has announced the launch date for its new store at Greyhound Retail Park in Chester. The much-anticipated opening in the former Homebase unit is set for 10am on Thursday, October 9.
This store represents a fresh format for the company. Following the recent inaugurations of IKEA Harlow and IKEA Norwich, this will be the third small store to open this year.
The design for the retail park stores has been crafted to be significantly quicker and more cost-effective to set up than traditional IKEA outlets, reports Cheshire Live .
The unveiling of IKEA Chester is part of the retailer's expansion strategy, aiming to bring IKEA closer to where people live, work and socialise in areas such as suburbs, towns and smaller cities where the business is not yet physically present.
