Jets quarterback Justin Fields left the team’s Week 2 loss against the Buffalo Bills with a concussion. Head coach Aaron Glenn announced on Wednesday that Fields will miss the Week 3 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Veteran signal caller Tyrod Taylor will make his first Jets start this Sunday.
The Jets signed Taylor a year ago as a veteran backup for Aaron Rodgers. He saw only mopup duty in his first season with the Jets in a couple of blowout losses.
Since Taylor’s contract contained guarantees for a second season, he returned to the Jets in 2025 to serve as Justin Fields’ backup.
