WASHINGTON (WV News) — West Virginia joined an amicus brief in support of the Trump administration's use of National Guard troops in Washington, according to State Attorney General JB McCuskey.
Along with 22 other states on the brief, West Virginia argues President Donald Trump’s use of National Guard personnel does not infringe on D.C.’s sovereignty.
The brief is part of a case filled in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by the D.C. attorney general seeking a preliminary injunction halting the guard members from providing assistance to the “D.C. Safe and Beautiful” mission.
