A routine traffic stop in Rankin County led to a major counterfeit merchandise bust, according to the Mississippi Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division (CTED).

On September 14, CTED officers conducted a stop on Interstate 20. During the inspection, officers discovered several pallets of counterfeit Nike and Louis Vuitton products with an estimated value of more than $230,000. All items were seized.

Two individuals, Yecai Xin and Tongzhan Qi, both from California, were arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit goods with intent to sell. Officials confirmed both men were in the U.S. illegally and are being held for ICE extradition.
