PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Oregon State Police are investigating a “suspicious” backpack that was left in a public restroom at a public beach in Clatsop County on Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to the Sunset Beach State Recreation Site and requested the help of explosives experts who “rendered the device safe.” Officials then investigated the rest of the area, where they did not find any other suspicious devices.

“While this is believed to be an isolated incident, the public should remain vigilant and report any suspicious objects to local law enforcement by calling 911 and remaining at a safe distance from the object,” according to OSP.
