In 1995, a group of Yeadon Public Library patrons wanted to support the facility in a more formalized way, and those efforts have spanned three decades, leading to this year’s anniversary.

The Friends of the Yeadon Public Library is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and as it reflects on the past, it looks to the future by welcoming more to join its nonprofit ranks.

“We try and raise money,” Denise Stinson, president of the Friends of the Yeadon Public Library, said. “We have different projects going on.”

She explained that the Friends works to support the library at 809 Longacre Blvd., such as purchasing computers for public use.
