Most Americans are finding common ground on one issue after the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk rocked the country, according to a new poll.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll , released Tuesday, revealed that around two out of three Americans believe that harsh rhetoric used in politics is encouraging violence. The three-day poll was conducted in the days following the death of Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of President Donald Trump , who was fatally shot last week during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.
According to the poll, 63% of U.S. adults say the way Americans discuss politics contributes “a lot” to encouraging political violence, while 31% of respondents believe the country’s approach is provoking “a little” uptick.
