U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) got into a heated debate with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins on Tuesday over the suspect in the killing of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.

Cruz scoffed at Collins after she said on “The Source” that officials have not revealed a motive for the assassination of Kirk last week. Tyler Robinson, 22, is charged with aggravated murder and other crimes in connection with Kirk’s killing.

“And we don’t have a motive yet. We don’t know yet. We’re waiting. Obviously, we’ve heard what the Governor’s had to say, what the FBI director said today,” Collins told Cruz.

“Of course, we know. But come on, we don’t have a motive yet?” Cruz responded.

“We don’t have a motive yet? Really?” Cruz added as Collins tried to respond. “Really? That’s CNN’s position?”
