Mario Lopez has been tapped to host the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which are set to take place on Oct. 17 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences revealed the news Monday, as well as a partnership with syndicated entertainment news show “ Access Hollywood ” (which Lopez hosts) to highlight the Daytime Emmys both before and after the ceremony.
As part of the pact with “Access Hollywood,” the show will feature segments devoted to the Daytime Emmys during the week of Oct. 13, leading up to the ceremony. Then, on the show’s Monday, Oct. 20, episode, “Access” will do a deep recap of the ceremony — including red carpet coverage, winner reactions and other footage.
This means, however, that the Daytime Emmys does not have a live broadcast
