A Logan County man has pleaded guilty to charges of threatening a judge and a prosecutor.

Following a conviction in a domestic violence case, 44-year-old Melvin Haley allegedly made threats toward an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney and a Circuit Judge. Back in September, Haley was convicted of strangulation in the case and sentenced to three years in prison. The threats made after the conviction constituted two counts of retaliating against a participant in a legal process, which is also a felony.

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman said, "Threatening our prosecutors in this Commonwealth will continue to result in serious consequences. The Office of the Attorney General will stand firm to help protect Kentucky's outstanding prosecutors, law enforcement, and judges."
