SOUTHEAST Mo. (KFVS) - Safety advocates will host car seat safety checks throughout southeast Missouri.
As part of Child Passenger Safety Week, September 21-27, the Cape Girardeau Safe Communities, Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety and other safety advocates will host the free checks.
Parents and guardians can visit an inspection station at locations in Bloomfield, Fredericktown, Hayti, Jackson, Kennett, Licking, Park Hills, Perryville, Sikeston and Van Buren.

According to the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety, certified child passenger safety technicians will inspect car seats, review expiration dates, check installation and usage.
They say the checks take about 30 minutes.
