CHEYENNE – After several weeks of public hearings and discussions by county officials and boards, Laramie County commissioners voted against the proposed Laramie Range Wind Project.

The decision was made Tuesday night at the Board of County Commissioners meeting following more than three hours of public comment.

The proposed wind farm, spearheaded by Houston-based company Repsol Renewables North America (RRNA), would have entailed 170 turbines installed on more than 56,000 acres of unincorporated Laramie County land 20 miles northwest of Cheyenne.
